The best BBQ restaurant in Alberta. The owner is a very hospitable guy who took the time to chat with us. I visited on Feb. 1st 2020 we were a group of 4. I had the burnt ends sandwich and upgraded my fries to a poutine. Gravy was beyond delicious. The burn ends melt in your mouth. Others in our group had the three meat platter and everything was flavorful and tender. I would 100% recommend driving out of your way to visit.

This place is awesome! As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. All the meat is smoked in house and the owner makes the best homemade sauces! (try anything with the BBQ sauce and you will not be disappointed).Had the montreal smoked meat sandwich last time, and the meat was so tender and flavourful. Would definitely recommend!

This has to be one of the most lovey small restaurants I've been to in this town. Awesome atmosphere, love the furniture and layout and the food is amazing the poutine I had wasn't lacking anything! Just enough of gravy and cheese not over whelming. I am usually a big food critic but this was spot on! Staff are friendly and down to earth. Highly recommend people here.

The food here is AMAZING but the atmosphere is what makes it so special. The people that work here truly enjoy their job and make it a fun place to visit. You feel like you are at home with family!

Really good food and friendly staff

I forgot how good the ribs are - I know - how do you forget ribs this good? Because all their food is so delicious! My boyfriend suggested that I keep The Pit overalls in my truck, to wear to dinner here. A good joke and an even better suggestion if you could see my outfit right now. I love the warm service and never leave hungry. Or without a sauce stain on something I am wearing!

Lovely little family-run business. The food is exceptional, good ambiance. One of the best eateries Olds has to offer. Came highly recommended.

Having spent time in Louisville KY, I can say with some authority, this is LEGIT BBQ! smoked in-house, house made BBQ sauce, fantastic flavour and melt in your mouth! The fries were the best in town and my wife's gluten free bun was AMAZING. great experience!

It's a small little restaurant but great atmosphere, very unique. It really defines "little BBQ sandwich shop". The food is unreal. Every sandwich I've tried there is unbelievably tasty. Extremely tender meat and very juicy. My personal favourite is the schmoe sandwich. The fries r great with gravy. And the portions are very generous.

What an amazing find! Not your typical restaurant but worth the stop. The staff is fantastic and the food is amazing! If you are in Olds swing by for amazing smoked meat.

Easterners missing the smoked meat, big garlic pickles, and masses of fries should make the trip to The Pit. Both the rueben and the traditional smoked meat was delicious. Sliced to order on a medium rye. The only thing I would like would be a dense firmer rye for the delicious meal.

As always fantastic service. Even with new staff, great service...that's why I keep bringing new people anytime they haven't heard about it or eaten here.

Barbeque Coffee ShopHear me out:Coffee shop atmosphere (pay before you eat, food made to order right in front of you) plus amazing Barbeque food.Portions are big enough to feed a lion. Prices are good value for what you get, small town feel with big city taste.I've had the Wilson 22 (pictured) which was delicious, the deluxe poutine with brisket (pictured), also delicious, and 2 kinds of pop from Grizzly Paw Soda Company (cream soda, and black cherry cola) which were refreshing.Staff is beyond friendly and always checking to make sure you have everything you need, even a complimentary glass of water. The cook even remembered me from the previous day (yes, I went 2 consecutive days, it's THAT GOOD)And can I just tell you about how happy I am that they sell locally produced pop? Grizzly Paw is from Canmore, a mere 2 hours away.I will definitely add this to my "local places to bring visitors" list.

First time! Won't be my last. Food was excellent. The smoke flavour in the brisket was delicious and the coleslaw - with the bits of Apple!!!! The watermelon salad with a hint of heat! Clean please, great staff, amazing server Kylesea (sure I spelled that wrong, sorry)

I was looking for a new spot to try and happened to notice this spot during my searches, and I'm glad that I did. They have some very nice, skilled and courteous staff. Their selection isn't huge, but they make up for it by having some bomb food! I tried the pulled chicken poutine and the pork "burnt ends", pictured, and was very satisfied. The food is very filling, and I don't mind putting away my leftovers for later! Definitely going to get 2-3 solid meals out of this. Will definitely return any time I'm in the area.
